Across Ontario, recycling programs may soon be affected by changes detailed in the amended Blue Box Program Plan. What do the changes mean? How can program operators best prepare for the future, while managing programs effectively through the changes? It’s these topics and others that will be covered in this not-to-be-missed Ontario Recycler Workshop, on Wednesday, May 2, 2018. Registration for ORW is open to all CIF stakeholders.
The CIF is also hosting two new training sessions in Collingwood on May 1. CIF trainings are hosted for municipal and First Nation staff, free of charge.
Both the ORW and training events will be hosted live at Living Water Resort; ORW is also available via webcast.
Pre-ORW Events (Tuesday, May 1)
Both training courses are full but you can sign up for the waiting list.
2018 CIF Training – Tuesday, May 1
Municipal & First Nations staff, free of charge
The Resource Productivity and Recovery Authority (RPRA or the Authority) was created by the government of Ontario to play a leading role in supporting the movement towards a circular economy in the province.
On Tuesday, May 1, in conjunction with CIF’s ORW and training events, RPRA staff will lead an interactive session that will answer your questions about our mandate, individual producer responsibility and the circular economy. We will also provide key updates on program wind ups and what to expect from these changes. This is also your first opportunity to see the registry and how you will interact with it.
If you haven’t signed up yet to attend, we urge you to do so now as space is limited.
Date: Tuesday, May 1, 2018
Time: 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (lunch and snacks provided free of charge)
Location: Living Water Resort, Collingwood
Room: George Collins Room (off dining room)

- What is the Authority’s role and mandate?
- What is individual producer responsibility and how will it work?
- What does the circular economy look like in my municipality?
